Max Verstappen will be looking to become the first driver to win the Las Vegas Grand Prix twice and also keep his slim Formula One world title hopes alive.

The Red Bull Racing driver secured a podium spot at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix on 9 November, the most recent race on the 2025 Formula One World Championship calendar.
Verstappen started in the pit lane and he passed several cars, which saw him secure the third-place spot and also finish fourth in the sprint event, which saw him collect 20 points from the Brazilian race.
Formula One title ambitions
The 2013 KZ World Championship winner still placed third in the World Drivers' Championship standings, having accumulated 341 points.
Verstappen is now 25 points behind second-placed Oscar Piastri of McLaren and 49 points behind leader Lando Norris of McLaren.
Why Verstappen could win the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix
The 2022 and 2023 DHL Fastest Lap Award winner was the first driver to win the Las Vegas Grand Prix when he was crowned champion in the inaugural race in 2023.
Verstappen is slowly regaining his old form as he is the only driver to have secured a podium spot in each of the last seven Formula One events, including three victories in Italy, Azerbaijan and the USA.
What did he say?
“It’s too many points to really have a proper chance at that [winning the 2025 Formula One world title], I think,” Verstappen said after the 2025 Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
“If you look of course at the whole season, we gave away too many points from the beginning until the middle of the season. I think for us now to the end goal is trying to just have these highlights, have good race weekends.
"And see what we can do to the end. But yeah, a lot of things that I guess we also still want to analyse from the whole weekend, but at least the race was very promising."
